Professor Herbert wore a gray suit of clothes. The suit matched his gray hair.




DAVE:
a young man fearful of and embarrassed of his father; he thinks his father will shoot his teacher.




PA (LUSTER) SEXTON:

Pa’s eyes danced fire. His face was getting red. The red color was coming through the brown, weather-beaten skin on Pa’s face.




MA SEXTON: She seems level-headed but subservient to her domineering husband.





FARM: His farm seems like the only thing he has, he needs it to make a living. Seems like they have a lot of animals such as pigs, cows, horses, chickens, etc..



SCHOOL: The school seems different from when Pa was in school because it seems like he had very little education and that could be a possible reason he doesn't know what germs are. And if i wasn't for the school and the teacher Pa wouldn't understand the things that was going on. The school also seems to have blackboards, good classes like science, english, math etc..



Metaphor: 1)His eyes danced with fire

Simile: 1) I was shaking like a leaf in the wind. 2)He looked like a leaf turned brown on the tree among the treetop filled with growing leaves.



Dialect: Country voices, "Why did you haf to stay after school?" , "Send you to high school and you get too orenry fer th' buzzards to smell!"
